Well... how would it function? Since your name is your directory on dA, changing your name changes the address to which people are directed. So the end result is really just a new address, which everybody has available anyway; and then you can just put up a journal "Moved to :devNewUser :

Creating a new account would mean I'd have to reupload all my deviations/artists comments/etc, and I'd lose all the favs and comments on my deviations that I have right now (as well as my gallery of personal favs, which I know I could still access by coming back to the old account, but still). I just wanted to be able to change the name on my current account, but have it so that when people typed in mexicanboho they'd still get to my regular page.

P.S. I know that's not going to happen, as its way too much effort on deviantart's part for very little return. I don't seriously think this could or should happen, it would just be swell for me
